The Valerie Feltham and Tammy Bekkers Memorial Bursary

A legacy of friendship, love and laughter.

In February 1993, two beloved classmates and dear friends, Valerie Feltham and Tammy Bekkers, were lost to us on their way home for Reading Week.

Even though this tragic event happened 30 years ago, the impact on the people who loved them is still felt to this day.

Alumna Jennifer Mondoux, Arts ’94, is pleased to announce a $50,000 bursary that will help keep Val and Tam’s memory alive in perpetuity.

Bursary Details

The Valerie Feltham and Tammy Bekkers Memorial Bursary will support Queen’s students studying French or Political Studies (the chosen paths of Val and Tam, respectively).

The bursary will be funded over five years through the commitment of Jennifer Mondoux and, by the end of that period, will be available to students in need of financial assistance to pursue their studies.

If you were touched by the lives of Val and Tam and are interested in helping to make the bursary available to qualifying Queen’s students in less than five years’ time, please visit the special donation page set up by the university: https://www.givetoqueens.ca/feltham-bekkers .

Once funded, the bursary, as it is an investment, continues to be available to qualifying Queen’s students in need of financial assistance.
